Automatic Vehicle Location
The Ortivus Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) software solution enables EMS and public safety services to track their vehicles in real time! The Ortivus AVL application accepts GPS data transmitted by devices in the vehicles, and uses that data to plot the location of the vehicles on one or more map displays.
Key Features - EMS Market
- Answers common dispatcher questions, such as “Where are my vehicles?” and “What are they doing?”
- Reliability rating of last position report supports better decision making
- Simultaneous display of maps showing different geographies and selections of vehicles for a ‘bigger picture’ view
- Address and respective coordinates (e.g. latitude/ longititude) displayed in mouse cursor as hover over map areas for quick and easy location information
- Real-time tracking of vehicle location, direction of travel and speed - all displayed on an electronic map
- Optimized for rapid panning and zooming
- High degree of customizable features, such as display rules for each map-layer (e.g. streets, highways, rivers, shore lines, railroads, power lines, etc.), label names and foreground/background colors, vehicle icons, vehicle attributes, different views (e.g. map vs. list)
- Playback capability to recreate fleet movements
- Ability to request display vehicles nearest to a given point
- Ability to request premise information that falls within range of a given point (e.g. allows operator to locate hazardous materials, floor plans, evacuation plans, etc. within proximity of a given location)
- Can integrate existing map data or be supplied with new data
- Easily upgrades to Sweet-CAD or AVeL-CAD for computerized dispatch functionality
- Tracks and traces vehicle locations and displays them on an electronic map to provide key information for dispatchers to make better decisions.
Key Features - Public Safety Market
- Enables tracking of large fleets
- Allows better fleet optimization as it keeps track of all vehicle positioning
- Increases officer safety as you always know where the vehicles of your fleet are and what they are doing
- Reliability rating of last position report supports better decision making
- Simultaneous display of maps showing different geographies and selections of vehicles for a ‘bigger picture’ view
- Address and respective coordinates (e.g. latitude/longititude) displayed in mouse cursor as hover over map areas for quick and easy location information
- Highly configurable and flexible: easily adapts to your agency and operational procedures
- Open architecture - can be used as a stand-alone system or in conjunction with other applications such as AVeL-CAD or MobiCAD for public safety or even third-party software. The modular architecture of the AVeL system can address both very large and small fleet applications, and can easily expand for maximum adaptability to existing and future needs
- Provides a tactical map display tool that interfaces with the GPS receiver. This tool displays its own vehicle movements in real-time and allows for playback to replay fleet movement. Playback functions include multiple vehicle selection, vehicle tracking and VCR and DVD-like playback controls.
- High degree of customizable features, such as display rules for each map-layer (e.g. streets, highways, rivers, shore lines, railroads, power lines, etc.), label names and foreground/background colors, vehicle icons, vehicle attributes, different views (e.g. map vs. list)
- Ability to request display vehicles nearest to a given point
- Ability to request premise information that falls within range of a given point (e.g. allows operator to locate hazardous materials, floor plans, evacuation plans, etc. within proximity of a given location)
- Either reads the geodata directly or the users may import it to ensure optimal AVL map performance. Ortivus makes use of most commercially available sources of map data or GIS flat file formats as source data for the AVL system.
- Integrates with most wireless radio infrastructures
- Provides messaging functions, which enable all vehicles to have coordinated communications with the control center
- Product developed using Microsoft .NET technology
