Ortivus North
America (NA) adopted, in late 2004, a new platform strategy for all of
its public safety and EMS
product offerings. In conjunction with the migration of products to the
Microsoft .NET framework, all of Ortivus NA products will be moved on
the new platform. Public Safety and EMS applications will share a common
base in order to leverage product components and concepts across the
product line, leading to a complete Public Safety/EMS product family.
Ortivus NA
developers have selected the .NET
framework to consolidate, simplify and rejuvenate the core platform, as
well as all applications that depend on it. Ortivus NA now develops new
features only within the new .NET
framework, and over time, will move all products and features to the new
platform.
The new product
platform will also be complemented with a new set of reporting tools
powered by Microsoft Reporting Services. The new reporting tools will
support traditional (paper-oriented) reports, as well as interactive
reports (web-based) complete with drill-downs, graphs and the
possibility of linked reports. Advanced versions of the reporting tools
will support report generation scheduling and subscription based
automatic report delivery.
This new platform
strategy will bring added value and benefit to Ortivus NA customers. All
applications of the product platform will behave as one unique system
rather than separate applications. A net benefit of this shared platform
will be simplified information sharing between different applications.
Purchasing other products within the Ortivus NA .net platform will add
to the overall functionality of the system already in place and will not
necessitate a total reconfiguration. User authentication and
authorization will be managed from a central place and be applied to all
installed applications.
By using the
different applications encompassed in the Ortivus NA Public Safety/EMS
offering, customers will be ensured a comprehensive and cost-effective
solution that delivers real-time information supporting daily operations
and decisions. |
