Swartz Ambulance Service is celebrating its 35th Anniversary; 35 years of providing exceptional care to Genessee County, Michigan residents! Founder Harry C. Swartz, built his company based on service and commitment to others, a philosophy that continues today.

Swartz Ambulance Service transported over 30,000 patients in 2009. With a staff of 100 employees, it offers transport in Advanced Life Support (ALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Specialty Care Transport (SCT) and wheelchair transport. The fleet of 28 ambulances logged well over one million driving miles in 2009. Being an integral part of the community, whenever a public event occurs, Swartz offers its services for stand-by assistance.

A successful ambulance company has to remain financially viable. One way this happens at Swartz is its commitment to professional billing staff AND its commitment to first-class software. Company Executive Vice-president, Ray Little, says, “We use the Ortivus suite of software in its entirety. From the moment the patient accesses our Dispatch Center (Sweet-CAD) through transport (Sweet-Field Data) and until the bill is paid (Sweet-Billing), ALL of our data is on the same system. This has reduced lost information and allows for easy data retrieval. With its electronic billing system and uncomplicated report generation, management of a complex company is a lot easier task.” Ray says that the Sweet system is the best system he has used in his 25 years of EMS management. “Having real-time pictures of your system is a powerful business tool!”
