JOHNSON - CELEBRATING 14 YEARS!
History with the
company (AVeL-TECH/Sweet/Ortivus):
I was hired by Dave and
Mary Sweet in 1993, and joined the Sweet Computer Services Support
Team. In the years since, I have had the privilege of working with
our Customers in many different roles, including that of Support
Technician, VP of Customer Service, and VP of Education and Quality
Control. In those roles, I found many opportunities to work with
customers on ways of increasing the efficiency of their systems
through one-on-one phone conversations, User Groups and On-site
Training. My focus has moved more toward the training and support of
those customers who are Billing Services and the unique challenges
faced by that group of Sweet-Billing
customers. Time spent in a support capacity, in addition to my
previous years of EMS experience, were great preparation for my
current role, that of Director of Sweet Billing Services.

Most memorable event since you’ve been with the company:
Wow, it is really impossible to narrow it down to just one event. As
I look back over the years, I think of things like the “car pool
days” to West Union, the move from Ambulance 3.x to Ambulance 2000,
Y2K, the old HCPCs codes going away (multiple times), moving from
Ambulance 2000 to Amazon, the company move from West Union to
Decorah, and the introduction of an Ambulance Fee Schedule. Also, as
anyone that travels commercially very much knows, most every trip
has a story! But the one thing that is really “most memorable” as I
reflect on all of those things, is the great group of coworkers and
customers/clients that I am blessed to work with! The ride has been
a great one so far, and I look forward to the challenges to come!
Most enjoyable part of your job:
…the excitement of anticipating, and finding a solution for the
“next challenge” in our industry. I truly enjoy the opportunity to
help our customers get the most out of their systems, by sharing
what we learn through our every day “hands on” experience, as “real
life” users of the billing software. I enjoy the challenges
presented by the EMS industry, and helping our customers find the
most efficient ways to meet those challenges in their individual
operations.
Other Relevant or Interesting Information:
Prior to joining the Sweet/Ortivus team, I was a Sweet Customer,
working as Director of a Municipal Ambulance Service, and lead
instructor of an EMS training institution. I’m also a Private Pilot.
When time allows, I enjoy flying, boating, and most any other form
of “get-away-from-it-all” recreation with my family. I’m married to
the greatest woman in the world, who has somehow put up with me for
25 years! We have three kids of our own, and have also had two
foster children.

History with the company:
I joined the Ortivus team on December 4th, 2006.
Current position:
My current position with Ortivus is Product Manager – Public Safety.
Prior to Joining Ortivus, I held various Marketing and
Business Development roles from some diverse Industries.
Most enjoyable part of your job:
What I like most about my job is that I come in everyday and learn
something new and each day is different than the next. In my short
time here, I have come to realize that Ortivus is an organization
that is open to change and open to new ideas. |
