Ortivus North America
Continues to Strive for the Future

by Charlie Barry

Charlie Barry, Director of Technology
Over the years, Ortivus has worked to stay on the forefront in the ever changing world of technology by evaluating technologies and incorporating them into its products and services at points where they offer the most benefit to you, the consumer.

This is evidenced in the adoption of protocols and initiatives such as GJXDM present in our upcoming RMS product, Health Level 7 (HL7) present today as the communication format for data exchange between Sweet-Field Data Remote Units and Sweet-Station, and our upcoming comprehensive support for the NEMSIS data set.

This commitment is further proven in services provided to you, the consumer, in the following means:
  • Online chat features available to customers (with a current support maintenance agreement) for questions and answers
  • RSS feed (really simple syndication) available from the home page of the www.ortivusna.com website which offers notification of EMS/Public Safety industry news headlines, latest product developments, webinars, etc.
  • Webinars, utilizing Microsoft Live Meeting and enabling Ortivus to offer education and promotional programming via the web
  • Continuous knowledge updates of changes in the Microsoft platform which affect your Ortivus applications, as evident with the recent articles on SQL Server 2005 and the article in this newsletter on the discontinuance of support on Win 98, Win 98 SE, and Win ME
  • Ortivus continues to look at ways to improve its development process and products by adopting a new platform strategy leveraging the benefits of the Microsoft .NET platform and adopting the RUP (Rational Unified Process) development process for all new product development.

While Ortivus continues to strive for the future, we will not loose sight of what has gotten us here: offering competent, reliable products, services and education.
