2009 Year In Review

Ortivus set out in the beginning of the year to lay a solid foundation to face the challenges of the U.S. economy and prepare for a successful 2009. As the year comes to a close, Ortivus is pleased to report that 2009 was indeed a successful year, in spite of the economic challenges facing the country.
Ortivus launched their new Fusion ePCR product and has received overwhelmingly positive feedback and interest in the new ePCR solution, which is also certified as NEMSIS Gold Compliant. In addition to the ePCR product, a second Fusion application was also introduced in 2009, called Fusion eTrack. Fusion eTrack is an automatic personnel location solution that runs on a RIM® BlackBerry® platform and works in conjunction with CAD systems to improve communication with mobile workforces.
In addition to product launches, Ortivus' Sweet-Billing software continues to be the EMS billing solution of choice, as evidenced by the contract won for a 50-user system for the City of Phoenix. Sweet-Billing version 5.5, which introduced Denial Codes, was released in conjunction with Fusion ePCR; version 5.6 is scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2010. Additional features and functionality to this comprehensive application continues to make Sweet-Billing the most used EMS billing software application in the U.S., and an important component of the Ortivus foundation.
Ortivus continues to emphasize quality education and support, and is often cited as proving it better than any of its competitors. To make software training more accessible and affordable for its customers, Ortivus increased its training events and hosted five group trainings around the country in 2009, as well as offering many online educational webinar events. Ortivus also launched an EMS software-related blog early in the year to share information and provide an additional means of dialogue with professionals in EMS. Whether software related, or industry information that benefits EMS professionals, Ortivus continues to make assessable industry education and software training a high priority.
While 2009 will be a hard year to beat, Ortivus continues to seek out innovative ideas, work in team-centered approaches and keep a keen ear tuned to its customers to provide guidance into the next decade.
