Sweet Version 5.2 Release Incorporates Data Reconciliation
The new release of Sweet Version 5.2 will be accessible for general availability (GA) May 30, 2006 via Ortivus North America's secured section of the web site (www.ortivusna.com). As with past releases, and consistent with Ortivus' strategy, this release was built on the company's commitment to customers, as well part of the vision for the Sweet product line for the future. With over 2,600 EMS providers relying on Sweet-Billing, Ortivus realizes the importance of integrating the Sweet-Billing with other frequently utilized applications; applications such as field data, automatic vehicle location (AVL) and computer aided dispatch (CAD), all of which Ortivus develops and markets. By integrating all of these applications within the Sweet product line, professionals in the EMS industry experience greater efficiencies in workflow, more accurate database and records, reduced time spent learning and excelling at the software applications, and less time spent on the administrative side of working with multiple vendors versus one. The new features of version 5.2 follow:
The major new item in version 5.2 is Data Reconciliation. This feature is important to customers that have Sweet-Field Data or use the ASCII Import Add-On Module. Data Reconciliation allows information from an outside source–like Sweet-Field Data, Sweet-CAD, or another third party data source to update Call and Patient records that already exist in Sweet-Billing/Sweet-Field Data:Station. Your operation will benefit from this feature because it now allows:
- Changes made to Patient information entered in Sweet-Field Data:Remote (or Station-to-Billing) to be uploaded to the matching Patient record in Sweet-Billing;
- Call information from multiple sources like Sweet-CAD and Sweet-Field Data to merge together into the same Call in Sweet-Billing; and
- Call and/or Patient information imported through the ASCII Import Utility to merge into existing Call and Patient records in Sweet-Billing.
Other important new changes include:
Sweet-Billing
ICD-9/Condition Codes – Effective Dates have been added to the ICD-9 / Condition Codes fields for Reason Codes, similar in functionality to the HCPCS fields in your Charge Codes. Payor Overrides of the Default ICD-9 Codes also contain comparable Effective Date fields. A set of Service Level fields (Current, Previous and Effective Date) have also been added to the Reason Codes for use with Condition Codes. (Service Levels include ALS, BLS, ALS PLUS and BLS PLUS.) The Call Data Entry Reason Grid has been expanded to display the Service Level so that data entry users can easily identify when there is a need for additional Reason Codes on the Call. Also, the Service Level has been added to the Call Reason object.
Enhanced State Runsheets – Reduce entry of duplicated run sheet questions and enhanced speed of entry. Additional run sheet questions have been tied to other data so the questions only have to be answered once. See specific states for more information.
Enhanced Reporting – The Unit Code has been added to the Flexible Filters Codes Field Filters in the Report Flexible Filters Tab and available on nearly every report.
Microsoft SQL Server – Billing, Station and Remote databases are now compatible with SQL Server 2005.
Sweet-Field Data
PCR Enhancements – Many improvements to the Patient Care Report have been implemented: the Report is now more readable, odometer readings and Medical Direction signatures are included, and the Dispatch Number is clearly displayed at
the top of each page.
Medical Direction – The Protocol Deviation section has been renamed to the Medical Direction section and has improved functionality, including the Medical Direction signature information.
DataLink Utility – Visual improvements to the DataLink process and the resulting Transmission Report further improve troubleshooting.
Data Reconciliation – Calls transferred to Billing/Station can be integrated into existing Calls, when a match is found.
