Sweet Version 5.1 Release Goes GA Today
The new release of Sweet Version 5.1 will be accessible for general availability (GA) March 9, 2005 via the Ortivus North America's (NA) secured section of the web site. As with past releases, and consistent with Ortivus NA's strategy, this release was built on the company's commitment to customers. Through careful consideration of customers' requests and needs, Ortivus NA strives to translate those requests and needs into features within the software. Ortivus NA appreciates this valuable input and believes that the new 5.1 release will equip many services with valuable functionality that helps improve their efficiency and effectiveness. The new features of version 5.1 follow:
Sweet-Billing
- Field Data Station to Billing Interface – This add-on feature provides the capability for Field Data customers to transfer their calls from Remote to Station, then make additional changes and or review the calls before they are transferred to the Billing Server.
- Enhanced State Runsheets – reduced entry of duplicated runsheet questions and enhanced speed of entry. Many runsheet questions have been tied to other data so the questions only have to be answered once.
- New State Runsheets – Runsheets for the states of Oregon and New York are in the process of being finalized and approved.
- Procedure Types – Two new Procedure Types, “Airway Management – Suction” and “Airway Management – Establishment” have been added to the Procedure Codes pull-down. The following detail fields can now be recorded on the call: Suction Type for Suction and Tube Size, Depth, Breath Sounds, Sellick Maneuver, CO2 Detected and CO2 Value for Establishment.
New Commercial Forms and Electronic Claims Add-On Modules
New modules are available for purchase: Blue Cross/Blue Shield commercial claims can now be sent electronically for many new states, including Pennsylvania (Highmark), Georgia BC/BS, and Alabama BC/BS. Anthem East Blue Cross ECM has also been developed. Finally, the WPS Commercial ECM is available.
A new paper form has been created for insurance claims that lump by HCPCS across multiple legs and another customized form is available for Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance claims.

New UWMA Electronic Claims Add-On Module
A new module can be purchased to allow United Mining Workers Association (UMWA) claims to be sent electronically. Contact your sales representative for more details.
Collection Letter
A new form has been created and is now available for producing patient collection letters.
Call Report
A new set of parameters called “Include payments/Credits Range” has been added to the Advanced Tab so that it is now possible to include only those calls with credits of a selected credit type received during a credit received date.
Remittance Advice
Customers using the Medical Remittance Advice Add-On Module now have additional options and cross-checks available for greater accuracy in applying credit write-offs automatically to their calls.
Contractual Write-Offs
The new GPCI effective January 1, 2005 and Rural Indictator values effective April 1, 2005 are available.
Sweet-Field Data
- Field Data Remote Installation kit – The installation package for Remote has been greatly enhanced and simplified for a more step-by-step approach.
- Airway Management – Field Data now includes the capability to document airway management procedures in Remote.
- Database initialization expanded – For installation of new systems, the Field Data Remote databases are now populated with an expanded list of medications.
- Patient Guarantor/Responsible Party – You will now be able to enter Guarantor/Responsible Party information in Remote and associate it with a Patient record.
- Head-To-Toe data entry has many new enhancements, including:
- The order of body sites has been modified for head-to-toe, left-to-right.
- Allows user defined Injury Types and user defined Body Site labels.
- A new “Unremarkable” button (to imply ‘within normal limits’) can be applied to all body sites or individual body sites.
- The Head to Toe data entry fields have been moved to a new section to allow for smoother and more efficient data entry.
- Field Data RunTypes now allow the activation of the “Trauma” section and the “Head-To-Toe” section in Remote
- Alert & Oriented x 3 has been expanded to be x 4, now including “Event” in Remote.
- Realtime Buttons in Remote – You now have the capability to deactivate the realtime buttons on Times or Dates in Remote.
- New Button in Remote – allows you to default from Pickup Location or Drop-off Location to populate the Patient Address.
- Expanded Capability for Medications, Procedures and Assessments – You are now able to tie Questions to Medications, Procedures and Assessments within Remote to provide for state-required information.
- PCR – increased efficiency in printing the Patient Care Report.
- Data Source Identification - Ability in Billing/Station to identify from which Remote Unit a specific call or patient originated.
- Patient Refusal form – The Patient Refusal form has been renamed to Patient Acknowledgement form and allows up to 8 separate custom definable statements on the form.
