New Ortivus AB President and Ortivus Group CEO Visits North America Operations

New Ortivus AB President and Ortivus Group CEO, Mikael Strindlund, visited the North American offices - Montreal, Quebec, Canada and Decorah, Iowa, US - during the week of January 24, 2005. The purpose of the trip was to gain a brief and sufficient overview of the Ortivus Group, including an impression of the potential impact that the North American products and systems have on international markets. "Since the North American operations are of major importance to the Ortivus Group as well as a substantial part of the Group's revenue," stated Mikael, "it was essential to visit our US and Canada operations directly after my appointment. To achieve success, personal relationships with management and colleagues are of utmost importance."

Mikael was appointed to his position in October of 2004. He earned his Master's degree of engineering at The royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, and has more than 10 years of experience in the medical technology field. His latest assignment was President for Maquet Critical Care AB within the Getinge Group. Previous to that, he held leading positions in Siemens AG (Germany) and Siemens-Elema (Sweden).

Mikael's visit was considered very successful as set targets were achieved. "It was impressive to see how fast and sufficient the integration of the two companies (AVeL-TECH and Sweet) have been implemented; this on all levels, such as management, marketing, financials, as well as within R&D," Mikael commented when asked about the trip. "In addition, I was very much impressed by the clear and direct 'touchable' entrepreneurship the North American operations shows."

Although it is still early for Mikael to comment on his worldwide vision for the Ortivus Group, he does state that the clear targets are to strengthen the company's position on local markets as well as internationally through organic growth and acquisitions within complementary areas.
